Something of a diary shot from a wander around old haunts in Southampton city centre.
This was taken by sticking the camera through a hole in the gates blocking off the building site that once was the Bargate Centre. This is one of the first places I remember going to when I moved to Southampton (a heady 26 years ago!) when it was a thriving shopping centre, but it got superseded by West Quay and out-of-town shops, gradually becoming a ghost town. Now all that remains is the original facade and everything behind it has gone. And so the medieval walls that surround it see off another era and await the next ('the Bargate Quarter').
